Cluster pays
In the standard rules, five or more matching symbols touching horizontally or vertically form a win. They burst and new ones drop in.
Multiplier spots
The first win on a square marks it. The next turns it into a multiplier, which doubles with each further win there. In the base game, spots reset after the sequence. In free spins, they stay for the whole round.

Our verdict
Sugar Rush takes the candy look of Sweet Bonanza and replaces scatter pays with cluster pays and multiplier spots. That one change gives it a completely different rhythm. In the base game, multiplier spots build and then vanish when the tumble chain ends, so they rarely add up to much. In free spins, they stay for the whole round, and a grid with several high-value spots can pay well on a single cluster. That's the game's engine. It also means many free spins rounds stay small, because the spots never reach the right places. If you like watching something build over a round, Sugar Rush is satisfying. If you want steady returns, it isn't the right game. The RTP, max win and any buy price are in the info panel.
How clusters form
A win needs five or more matching symbols touching each other horizontally or vertically. Diagonals don't count. Winning symbols explode and new ones fall in, which can form another cluster. A cluster can stretch across the grid in any shape, so long, snaking clusters do happen. The paytable shows how much each size of cluster pays for each symbol.
How spots double
When a symbol explodes, its square is marked. If another winning symbol explodes on that marked square, it becomes a multiplier spot. Each further win on that spot doubles its value, up to a cap shown in the rules. When a cluster touches several spots, their values are added together and applied to the win. In free spins, spots stay put until the round ends, so the grid builds steadily.
Free spins
Free spins start when enough scatters land, and the number of spins depends on how many scatters you got. The paytable lists both. A bonus buy is available where local rules allow it, at a price shown in the game.
Sugar Rush compared
Sweet Bonanza pays scatter wins anywhere and uses random bombs, which feel more sudden. Jammin Jars 2 uses clusters and moving jar wilds instead of fixed spots. Fruit Party shares the cluster grid but adds random multipliers to wins. More from the studio is on our Pragmatic Play page.
The math honesty note
Seeing several marked squares can make it feel like a big win is coming. It isn't owed. Each spin is independent, and the grid state only matters until the chain ends in the base game. Treat the build-up as part of the show.
Who it suits
Players who enjoy a round that builds and can accept that many rounds don't. Use a bet size that gets you to free spins more than once, and set a deposit limit first.
What to check in the info panel
Read the RTP for the version Stake runs, the cap on spot multipliers, the max win, and the buy price where a buy is offered. The spot cap matters more here than in most games, because it limits how far a single square can grow.
A session plan for Sugar Rush
Give yourself enough spins to see free spins more than once, because one round tells you little. A bet that covers three or four hundred spins is a reasonable start on a modest budget. Set a stop point before you begin, and if a round pays well, bank some of it rather than raising your bet.
Common misreadings
Marked squares in the base game don't carry forward to the next spin. A grid full of spots that never gets a cluster through them isn't a near miss. And a big free spins round doesn't make the next one more or less likely.
Staying in control
18+ only, or the higher legal age where you live. Stake.com isn't available in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Ontario, and the other countries on Stake's prohibited list. The availability page has the current picture, and we won't explain ways around a block. Set a deposit limit on day one and turn on 2FA. Gambling can be addictive. FAQ
Why do spots matter so much?
Because they stack and persist in free spins. That's the game's main engine.
Is Sugar Rush like Sweet Bonanza?
Both are Pragmatic candy games, but Sugar Rush uses clusters, not scatter pays.
Is there a Sugar Rush 1000?
Check the lobby.
Do multiplier spots carry over between base-game spins?
No. In the base game they reset after each tumble chain. They stay for the whole round in free spins.
Is there a limit on how high a spot can go?
Yes. The rules page lists the spot multiplier cap for the version Stake runs.
