Who runs Stake.com
When you register, you make a contract with Medium Rare N.V., registered in Curaçao (company number 145353). This is the company named in Stake's terms. Stake Brazil, Stake Colombia and Stake Mexico are separate companies with their own licences, and nothing on this site describes them.
The licence
Stake's licences page lists a Curaçao Gaming Authority licence, number OGL/2024/1451/0918, issued under Curaçao's National Ordinance on Games of Chance. Check the current status on the authority's own certificate page rather than trusting a badge on any site, including ours. We don't print grant or expiry dates because the sources we checked disagree.
Check the licence yourself
- Open Stake's licences page from the site footer.
- Find the Curaçao Gaming Authority entry and its certificate link.
- Check that the certificate names Medium Rare N.V. and licence OGL/2024/1451/0918.
- Note the status the certificate shows on the day you check.
What a licence does and doesn't mean
A licence means the operator has agreed to a regulator's rules and can be held to them. It doesn't make gambling safe, change the house edge, or guarantee a dispute will go your way. Treat it as one check among several.
If you have a complaint
The complaint route
| Step | Where |
|---|---|
| 1 | Stake support: 24/7 live chat when logged in, or support@stake.com |
| 2 | CADRE B.V., the dispute service certified by the Curaçao Gaming Authority |
| Law | Curaçao law and courts govern the terms |
Keep screenshots and bet IDs. Your account history lists each bet with an ID. Our support guide explains how to write a clear ticket.
Fairness
Stake describes its Originals as provably fair: you can check that a round's result was fixed before you bet. Our Originals hub explains the seeds. Studio slots and live tables are tested under the studios' own licences. Fair doesn't mean favourable. Every game has a house edge, explained in RTP and volatility.
Safety on your side
- Phishing. Stake warns that fake copies of its site exist. Official emails come from @stake.com addresses. See account security.
- 2FA. Protects logins, withdrawals, tips and sends.
- Limits. Deposit limits, break-in-play, product exclusion and self-exclusion. See responsible gambling.
Where Stake isn't available
Stake's terms prohibit play from 44 places, including the US, UK, Australia and Ontario. Using a VPN to hide your location breaches the terms. Check availability.
Our view
Stake is a long-running operator with a named company, a licence you can check and a clear complaint route. That makes it a real business, not a promise of fair treatment in every case. Want to see how it stacks up against other crypto casinos? Read our comparison page.
