TRX, DOGE and XRP on Stake, and the destination tag trap

Tron, Dogecoin and XRP are all on Stake's list of supported coins. The one that catches people out is XRP, which needs a destination tag as well as the address. Stake uses the tag to match a deposit to your account. Leave it out and the deposit can't be matched. Copy both, every time. 18+.

Stake's help center says XRP and EOS need a memo or tag. For any coin, if the cashier shows a tag or memo field, copy it.

Why XRP needs a tag

On the XRP Ledger, many exchanges and casinos use one shared address for lots of customers. The destination tag is a number that tells them which customer a payment belongs to. Send to the right address without the tag and the coins arrive, but nobody can tell whose they are. Recovery then depends on support matching the transaction by hand, if they can.

Deposit XRP safely

  1. Verify your email and account, and set a deposit limit.
  2. In the cashier, choose XRP.
  3. Copy the address.
  4. Copy the destination tag. Treat it as part of the address.
  5. In your wallet, paste both into their own fields.
  6. Send a small test, wait for it to arrive, then send the rest.

XRP reserve

XRP Ledger accounts keep a small reserve that can't be sent. If your wallet won't let you send your whole balance, that's why. It's a network rule, not a Stake one.

Tron

Tron is fast and usually cheap, which is why many people send USDT on TRC-20. Sending TRX itself works the same way: choose TRX in the cashier, copy the address starting with T, and send on the Tron network. Tron transactions use network resources paid in TRX, so keep a little TRX in your wallet even when you're sending a token like USDT. See USDT on Stake.

Dogecoin

Dogecoin has quick blocks and usually low fees, and no tag is needed. The main risk is a mix-up with another coin's address. Choose DOGE in the cashier and in your wallet.

Withdrawing

For withdrawals, the logic flips. If your receiving wallet or exchange needs a tag for XRP, enter your own tag in Stake's withdrawal form. Your exchange shows its tag on its deposit page. Without it, the exchange can't credit you.

If something went wrong

Contact Stake support with the transaction ID, the coin, the address and the tag you used, or that you left it out. Our support guide explains what to include. Don't send a second transfer to "push" the first one through.

Choosing between them

If you want low fees and quick credit, any of the three can work. If you'd rather your balance held its value, use a stablecoin instead. Compare everything on the payments hub and the crypto guide.

Price movement

TRX, DOGE and XRP all move with the market. Dogecoin in particular can swing sharply. If your balance is held in one of them, its value moves while you play.

A tag mistake, worked through

Here's a typical case with invented details. A player copies Stake's XRP address into their exchange, but the exchange's withdrawal form hides the tag field under "optional". They leave it blank. The coins leave the exchange and reach Stake's address, but Stake can't see whose they are. The player contacts support with the transaction ID. Whether it can be matched depends on Stake's process. The simple fix next time: treat the tag as compulsory, even when a form calls it optional.

EOS too

Stake's help center also lists EOS as a coin that needs a memo. The same rule applies: copy the memo with the address, every time.

A note on dates

Checked against Stake's help center on 13 October 2026. Which coins need a tag or memo can change, so follow what the cashier shows on the day. You must be 18+, or the higher legal age where you live. Stake.com isn't available in the US, the UK, Australia, Ontario or the other places on Stake's prohibited list, and that list can change. Treat every deposit as money you can lose.

Why can't I send my whole XRP balance?

The XRP Ledger keeps a small reserve in every account.

Does Tron need a tag?
