How we reviewed Stake
We read Stake's own terms, its licences page, the help center, and the casino and sports lobbies, all on 13 October 2026. Where Stake publishes nothing, we say so instead of filling the gap with a guess. We didn't score anything on bonus size, because offers change and a big headline number tells you little about value.
Each area below gets a plain verdict rather than a star rating. Stars hide the reasoning, and the reasoning is the useful part.

Licence and who runs it
When you register, your contract is with Medium Rare N.V., a Curaçao company. Stake lists a Curaçao Gaming Authority licence, number OGL/2024/1451/0918, on its licences page. You can check the certificate yourself; our licence and safety page shows how. A licence sets rules for the operator. It doesn't protect your winnings and it doesn't change the house edge.
If something goes wrong, Stake's terms say to contact support first. If that doesn't settle it, the next step is CADRE B.V., a dispute service certified by the Curaçao Gaming Authority. Curaçao law applies.
Signing up and logging in
You register with an email address or a social login (Google, Facebook or Kick). The terms ask for your name, date of birth and address. You must be 18, or the higher legal age where you live. Our registration guide walks through it.
Logging in uses your email and password, with two-factor authentication through an authenticator app if you turn it on. Passkeys are an option too. We'd turn 2FA on before your first deposit. The security guide shows where.
Payments
Crypto is the main route. Stake's help center lists BTC, ETH, LTC, USDT, USDC, DOGE, BCH, XRP, EOS, TRX, BNB, SOL, POL, DAI, LINK, SHIB, UNI, APE, CRO, SAND and TRUMP. USDT works on several networks, and coins sent on the wrong one aren't credited. XRP and EOS need a memo or tag.
Local currency, including card deposits, is offered in some countries and currencies only. You have to verify your email before you can deposit at all. Casino
Stake says it has thousands of slots, from studios like Pragmatic Play, Hacksaw Gaming and Nolimit City. It also has Stake Originals, in-house games such as Crash, Limbo, Mines and Plinko, which Stake describes as provably fair. The live casino runs Evolution and Pragmatic Play tables and game shows.
The range is the main draw. The risk is the pace: Originals resolve in seconds, so a limit matters more here than at a slower table. Start with the slots hub, the Originals hub or the live casino hub.
Sportsbook
Stake names football, the NFL, the NBA, tennis, cricket, boxing, MMA and UFC, F1, horse racing, ice hockey, baseball and esports (CS2, Dota 2, League of Legends and Valorant), plus novelty and prediction markets. Stake offers live chat around the clock when you're logged in, and email at support@stake.com. Security emails come from noreply@stake.com. If a message claiming to be Stake comes from any other domain, don't click it. Our support guide explains how to write a ticket that gets a quick answer.
Safety tools
You can set deposit limits, take a break, exclude yourself from specific products, or self-exclude entirely. Lowering a limit is instant. Raising or removing one takes 24 hours, which is a sensible cooling-off rule. Our responsible gambling page shows where each tool lives.

Who Stake suits, and who should skip it
Stake suits adults in a country it accepts who already use crypto, want casino and sports in one place, and will set limits before they play.
